CHX launches R+ merchandise to the industry

With 27 years’ experience designing and manufacturing environmentally conscious promotional products, we continually monitor ever changing consumer trends and proactively adapt our processes to ensure manufacturing and supply supports our journey towards becoming Net Zero. 
CHX is committed to designing products only made from recycled plastic and through time and investment, we’ve taken our manufacturing and recycling processes to the next level, to create our exclusive R+ range. 

This range of products offers diversity to our portfolio, with the added advantage of its pricing being the same as products made in our standard white recycled plastic. By competitively pricing both options the same, we believe the industry will welcome the R+ range as an innovative move from CHX, to provide the market with products that have a lower carbon footprint, without cost being a barrier to purchase.

Whilst taking on previous feedback from customers and the industry on rHIPS.b products and questions about what they’re made from and what does the name mean, we have renamed our exclusive range from rHIPS.b to R+, which simply stands for Recycled+.

R+ products are produced from waste material from the manufacturing process (of which we’re exclusively using recycled WEEE material) as well as all the waste generated from our print process being also recycled. Both these streams of materials are blended to create R+, a unique recycled plastic*. By reusing our own waste, and recycled materials being recycled again, our objective of lowering the carbon footprint of our products is achievable. The result of using our blended recycled plastic and a biodegradable additive in this process is, products have a slightly grey-speckled appearance, offering a more natural and aesthetically pleasing look.

R+ is an alternative recycled material option to our standard recycled plastic, and our merchandise continues to be manufactured to be pioneering, functional, durable, with a desired place in the promotional market. 

Over the last 12 months our team has revisited our best-selling lines to improve their environmental impact, furthering our commitment to being a forward-thinking, reliable and responsible UK manufacturer. Identifying our recycled material already has a carbon saving versus using any virgin material, additional changes including reducing weights by up to 15%, along with removing solvent adhesives in production and assembly where possible, have been introduced. These manufacturing and assembly changes have been applied to our R+ lines, making the products the same as those produced in white plastic and easily differentiated in appearance.
