BRIMAN, the BPMA’s British Manufacturing special interest group, has introduced updated membership criteria to better reflect the realities of modern manufacturing. 

BRIMAN was established to promote UK manufacturing within the promotional merchandise industry, supporting members through collaboration, education and advocacy.

Eligibility required members to demonstrate that more than 50% of their products were manufactured in the UK. 

Following industry consultation, this has now been broadened. 

New eligibility criteria: BPMA supplier members can now apply if they manufacture products in the UK, even where this represents less than 50% of their overall production. 

This change: 

• Reflects increasingly globalised supply chains 

• Recognises partial and hybrid UK manufacturing models 

• Expands the BRIMAN community 

• Strengthens the collective voice of UK manufacturing 

It also aligns with wider industry initiatives focused on clear, credible UK origin standards and recognised frameworks such as Made in Britain.  

While eligibility has widened, BRIMAN maintains clear standards. Applicants must: 

• Be BPMA supplier members 

• Demonstrate genuine manufacturing activity in the UK 

• Provide supporting evidence where required 

• Actively participate in the group
