As a Partnerships Executive at Planet Mark, I help build relationships with organisations that share our company ethos: to empower companies of any size to decarbonise and certify their efforts. Having worked in the environmental sector for over four years, I’ve seen that positive change is possible (and necessary!) to make sure we protect our planet and people. I’m most passionate about collaborating with others and seeing that collaboration, no matter how small, can make a positive change. And these positive changes compound overtime, fostering a community of likeminded people and organisations.

My company, Planet Mark, gives the opportunity to volunteer for one day every year. Last year, a group of us went to our colleague’s allotment in South London to help restore a community pond. It took an entire day (and lots of snacks) but by sunset we had relined the pond and de-weeded the path leading up to it. Later that night, it had partially refilled with rainwater and one of the allotment community members sent us a photo of a frog that had already moved in. It was a really proud moment for all of us – just one day out of our busy working schedules had restored a habitat for wildlife!

I’m inspired everyday by people inventing or driving solutions to help tackle climate change, build community, and protect people around the world. One of the best parts of my job is that I get to meet lots of people working on these solutions – to hear about their challenges and successes, and to see whether we might be able to collaborate.

Celebrating women all over the world!

Friendship is important – both inside and outside of work. Nurture the friendships where you listen to one another and share both the highs and lows. When the path is rocky, it’s your community that will help you to move forward.
