For me, International Women’s Day is about recognition and representation. It’s about celebrating the contribution women make across every level of business, often while balancing far more than is visible on the surface.”

For this year’s International Women’s Day, we’re proud to launch a campaign that spotlights the remarkable women shaping our industry and community. Through a series of profiles, we are sharing the stories of inspiring women who are leading and innovating across our industry!

Read Sarah’s story below.

I’m Sarah Howarth, Sales & Commercial Director at Wild Thang. I’ve been part of the business for over two decades and sit on the board alongside our leadership team. Wild Thang is a B Corp certified branded merchandise, uniform and fulfilment partner operating across the UK, Ireland, Europe, US and internationally.

My role focuses on sales strategy, commercial direction and ensuring we have the systems, people and partnerships in place to grow sustainably. I’m particularly passionate about developing client-focused solutions powered by automation and technology, using innovation to create smarter processes, greater visibility and new commercial opportunities. When tech is implemented well, it doesn’t replace relationships, it strengthens them.

I care deeply about unlocking potential within our team. When you combine empowered people with the right systems and a clear client focus, sustainable growth naturally follows.

Over two decades there have been many milestones, securing major contracts, expanding our operations into Ireland, the US and Internationally, advancing our technology innovation and celebrating 30 years in business, but the moments I’m most proud of are often people-focused.

Seeing team members who joined us early in their careers grow in there roles with some progressing into senior leadership roles is something I’m incredibly proud of. Watching women in our business grow in confidence, commercial strength and influence is hugely fulfilling.

Entrepreneurship runs in my family, so resilience and hard work were instilled early. But I’m equally inspired by the people I work alongside every day, that includes the women in our business who juggle multiple responsibilities while maintaining high standards and strong commercial focus.

I’m a big believer in continuous improvement. Every challenge, setback, loss or tough conversation is and has been an opportunity to grow at Wild Thang and an approach and mindset we have always adopted.

For me, it’s about recognition and representation. It’s about celebrating the contribution women make across every level of business, often while balancing far more than is visible on the surface.

It’s also about creating space for future female leaders. When women see other women leading, making decisions and shaping strategy, it expands what feels possible.

Don’t shrink yourself to make others comfortable. Be warm, be collaborative, but own your expertise and your seat at the table.

Invest in your skills, back yourself in conversations and remember that leadership isn’t about having all the answers, it’s about having clarity, courage and consistency.

And most importantly, support each other and other women. When we lift each other up, we all move forward.
