The LAN-KEY keyring is the first product to be made from recycled lanyards.
It is the last part in Preseli’s closed loop lanyard recycling project, being a finished commercial product that we are selling back into the promotional industry.
The keyring is made from recycled polyester that has been reclaimed from lanyards that were collected after UK tradeshows or returned after use from customers. All parts of the lanyards have been recycled or re-used.
The polyester pellets were reclaimed and re-moulded with Preseli’s partners here in the UK. Final finishing and branding are also applied here in the UK.
A key part of the spec was to ensure that the final product is priced realistically, so size, shape and branding cost were all carefully managed to compensate for the additional costs associated with the recycling process.
