Attending my first tradeshow, Sustainable Merchandise World, last week was a brilliant introduction to the energy and innovation that drives our industry. The event welcomed 343 distributor visitors from 188 companies, along with 20 VIP clients invited by distributors – a fantastic turnout. Across the exhibition floor, 90 exhibitors brought energy and intent, presenting not only creative and innovative product ranges, but also the sustainable stories behind them.
This year’s show also introduced an exciting new dimension with the addition of the Speakers Theatre. We were fortunate to be joined by two industry experts shaping the future of sustainability: Tom Nabney, Procurement Director at Geiger, and Alexander Norman, Head of Business Development at Terracycle. Tom shared with us the real-world steps Geiger has taken to embed sustainability into procurement—and what this means for both suppliers and clients, whilst Alexander explored how circular thinking can create new value for businesses and customers, and how Terracycle is pioneering innovation in waste reduction. Both speaker sessions sparked valuable discussion and added real depth to the day.

As a first-time visitor to the show, it was inspiring to see sustainability front and centre. It was also great to see lots of new suppliers and premium products presented by both BPMA members and non-members. For me, the show really highlighted how promotional merchandise can support brands in making a positive impact.
A big thank you to Sourcing City for their organisation, set-up and management which helped make the day such a success.
