In 2025, the BPMA launched a Gender Pay Gap Committee with the shared ambition of addressing the pay gap – together we have developed the BPMA’s Gender Pay Gap Commitment.
This new initiative sets out ten actions that organisations should be taking to drive progress towards pay equality.

UK Legislation
- April 2017: Gender pay gap reporting became mandatory for employers with 250+ employees, under the Equality Act 2010 (Gender Pay Gap Information) Regulations 2017
- April 2027: Under the Employment Rights Act 2025, developing a gender pay gap action plan, including menopause support measures, becomes mandatory for employers with 250+ employees
- April 2028: The expected first deadline for publishing the mandatory action plans
