A Bill to amend the UK’s existing Employment Rights Bill was introduced in the House of Commons last year, and completed it’s final report stage in July 2025 – with some significant amendments made that will impact UK employers. These include (but are not limited to) changes to Paternity leave, statutory sick pay, harassment policies, redundancy and employment tribunals.
BPMA benefit provider Quest have released an on-demand webinar this week providing an overview of the amendments: Employment Law Updates Revisited.
The Bill will now undergo a final reading in the House of Commons before it can become law. The Government has also confirmed that it’s implementation will be phased, with the first changes taking effect as of April 2026.
