Introduced in the House of Lords during September 2024, the new Product Regulation and Metrology Bill is currently proceeding through the House of Commons.

The purpose of this new regulatory framework is to “protect consumers and enable UK businesses to innovate.”
The Bill will enable the UK Government to amend product regulations, to address modern safety issues and technological developments, harness opportunities to create economic growth, and ensure a level playing field between the high street and online marketplaces.
