EU Commission Proposes Second EUDR Delay

News . 23rd September 2025

The EU Commission has announced that they are considering a second 12-month delay to implementation of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), which is currently set to come into force by 30th December 2025 for large organisations and 30th June 2026 for SME’s.

In their announcement, the Commission blamed the delay on technical issues with the IT platform that will contain the EUDR compliance data, with concerns that it will not ready for purpose by the time the regulation comes into force.

Please note, this delay has not yet been formally adopted and is still under proposal.

We advise that businesses do not delay or halt their current EUDR preparations. If you would like to learn more about EUDR compliance, be sure to join the BPMA’s upcoming EUDR webinar with Bureau Veritas – Register Here.
