BPMA Annual Conference 2025: A Fresh Format and a Sense of Wonder

News . 6th June 2025

The BPMA Annual Conference returned to the Crowne Plaza in Marlow on 4 June 2025 and was met with strong attendance and positive feedback. This year’s event saw the introduction of a refreshed format, diversifying from previous years with the addition of breakout room sessions. Attendees were able to select from three parallel morning sessions, encouraging greater topic choice and interaction.

The day began with a networking breakfast where members gathered ahead of the conference. The conference was then opened by BPMA Chair Clive Allcott, followed by BPMA CEO Phil Goodman, who shared an update on the Association’s recent work and a broader view of the industry landscape.

The morning’s breakout room sessions then began where attendees made their choices and headed to relevant rooms. The opening talks set the tone with insights into TikTok, exploring identity, and IP protection. After a short coffee break, the programme continued with sessions on Deaf Awareness in the workplace, progress towards Net Zero, international trade, and updates on product safety regulation and more.

Following a buffet lunch, the afternoon kicked off with an innovative keynote delivered by maverick inventor Tom Lawton. “An Inventor’s Tale” explored Tom’s epic journey from Wakeyoo to Wonder and offered a compelling look at his journey from initial idea to successful innovation, closing the event on an inspiring note.

Kerry Sunderland from Promo Trade commented on the day: “Thank you to BPMA for all the speakers and the brilliant guests we got to network with for a really great day!”

Fraser Lodge from Dowlis Inspired Branding added: “The event was packed with insightful discussions across three rooms, covering a wide array of topics relevant to the industry. My standout moment was hearing keynote speaker Tom Lawton share his journey and discuss the creation of ‘Wonder’.”

BPMA CEO Phil Goodman said: “We wanted to refresh the format to provide a broader range of subjects, so every delegate had the opportunity to take positives away and hopefully leave conference with more information on subjects relevant to them than when they arrived. We sincerely hope that Conference ‘25 reflected the new BPMA positioning of Inspire, Innovate and Impact. Early feedback from delegates has been resoundingly positive, which is great. It really has given us something to build on towards Conference ’26 as we seek to continually improve what we deliver for members.”

The BPMA would like to thank all speakers and attendees for making the day both engaging and informative.
